Create a meeting background with your Wisery online-card QR (Quick Response) code so participants can scan your video to open your card. Make the background in an image editor, add it to your meeting app, and test it from a participant’s view before using it.
Applies to: Free and Pro online cards. You need a Wisery online card, an image editor, and a meeting app and device that support uploading a personal background image. Your organization’s meeting settings may restrict this option. Visitors need internet access to open your online card.
Download the QR for your Wisery online card
In Wisery, open Business cards → Online cards and select Share on the card you want participants to see.
On the Share & Save page, find Share online card using QR code and select Download PNG.
Open the downloaded image and check that it contains the online-card QR. Use the online-card sharing QR; the Apple Wallet and Google Wallet installation QR codes serve a different purpose.
The Wisery online-card sharing area includes the QR preview and Download PNG control. Use that QR image in your background design.
For more help with the file and scanning checks, see Download, test, and print your card’s QR code.
Create a background with a clear QR code
Open an image editor and create a landscape canvas that meets your meeting app’s background-image requirements. For a 16:9 layout, 1920 × 1080 pixels is a useful starting example; check your provider’s current requirements before exporting.
Add a plain background, then insert the Wisery QR image. Keep the code square and preserve the clear border around it. Do not stretch, crop, cover, or add a logo over the code.
Place the QR to one side of the area your head and shoulders occupy. Leave space between the QR and the outer canvas edges because meeting layouts can crop the background.
Add a short destination label, such as Scan to view my card. Make the QR large enough to test from the participant’s actual video tile, rather than only in the full-size design.
Export the finished background as a PNG or JPEG image supported by your meeting app. Open the exported file to check that the QR is sharp and fully visible.
The exported background should have a clear central area for you and an unobstructed Wisery QR beside it. Create and export this image in your image editor; downloading a QR from Wisery provides the QR image for that design.
Illustrative meeting-background layout: keep the middle clear for your head and shoulders, place your Wisery QR to one side, and leave space from the video edges. Use your own QR and test another participant’s view.
Add the QR background to your meeting app
Open the background or visual-effects settings in your meeting app, before joining or during a meeting.
Choose the option to upload a personal background image and select your exported QR background.
Select or apply the uploaded image. Check the camera preview: your head and shoulders should leave the entire QR visible.
The meeting app should now show your QR design behind you. Use your provider’s instructions for the exact controls and supported devices:
If personal background uploads are unavailable on your device or account, share your Wisery card’s clickable URL in the meeting chat.
Test the QR from a participant’s view
Start a test meeting with another participant or join from a second device.
Ask the participant to view your video at the size people will actually see during the meeting. Check the QR in both a small gallery tile and a larger view if those layouts will be used.
Ask the participant to scan the QR with a phone. Confirm that the intended Wisery online card opens and its important links work.
Move naturally while speaking and check that your body does not hide the QR. If scanning fails, reposition or enlarge the QR, export the background again, replace the uploaded image, and repeat the participant-view test.
Paste your clickable Wisery online-card URL in the meeting chat as another way to open the same card.
The background is ready when another participant can scan your displayed QR and open the correct card. Scanning opens the online card; it does not automatically save your contact details or send you the participant’s details.
Why can’t participants scan my QR background?
The QR is covered or cropped: move it away from your head, shoulders, and the canvas edges. Check the participant’s view again.
The QR is too small or blurry: enlarge it in the source design, use the original QR download, and test the uploaded result. Participants can try a larger video view or use the chat link.
The QR looks reversed in my preview: some apps mirror self-view. Ask another participant to check their view before flipping the background. Google Meet can mirror your self-view while showing other participants the correct orientation.
The wrong page opens: check that the QR came from the intended online card’s sharing section. If you change the card’s destination URL, download a new QR and replace it in the background.
The code is recognized but the card will not load: check the phone’s internet connection and try the online-card URL directly.
