Give visitors a clear way to save your Wisery contact details, then help them complete the import on their iPhone or Android phone.
Applies to: The card owner needs Pro to add the online-card contact-saving block. Recipients do not need a Wisery account or app. They need internet access to open the online card. Phone prompts vary by browser and contacts app.
Add the contact-saving action to your Wisery online card
Open Business cards → Online cards and select your card preview to edit it.
Check the card’s name and the contact information you want visitors to keep. Add or correct the relevant contact details before sharing the card.
Open Blocks and select Wallet card. In the online-card editor, this block is described as letting visitors add your contact details to their contact lists.
Set Button text to a clear label, such as Save my contact details.
Review the preview. Save or publish the card only when its information is ready to be visible online.
Open the visitor-facing card on a phone and test its contact-saving action. Inspect the resulting contact preview or file and confirm the actual name, phone, and email fields before relying on it.
The Wallet card block on an online card is the contact-saving action. It is distinct from installing a business-card pass in Apple Wallet or Google Wallet.
The online-card editor calls the contact-saving block Wallet card. Its Button text controls the label visitors see.
Help the recipient open the contact card
Ask the recipient to open your Wisery online-card link or scan the QR that opens that profile.
Ask them to select your contact-saving button, such as Save my contact details. The wording can differ because the card owner can change it.
If the phone opens a contact preview, review the details and follow its prompts to add or save the contact.
If the browser downloads a contact file instead, open or import that file using the phone’s contacts app. A contact file may use the .vcf extension; it is also called a vCard.
The recipient completes the save on their own phone. After saving, open the phone’s Contacts app and check the saved name, phone number, and email. Opening the online profile alone does not add an entry to the phone’s address book.
A sample online-card preview with Save my contact details. This saves the owner’s details; it does not collect the visitor’s details.
Save contact details on an iPhone
To save someone’s details from their Wisery online card on an iPhone:
Open the online card using its link or QR code.
Tap Add to contacts. The card owner can rename this button, so your card may show a different label, such as Save my contact details.
In Wisery’s Add to contact confirmation, review the details and tap Save to contacts.
Tap Save to contacts in the confirmation to open the prefilled contact on your iPhone.
When the iPhone opens the prefilled contact details, scroll down and tap Create New Contact.
Scroll below the contact details to find Create New Contact. The example shows the same control in the iPhone contact preview.Follow any remaining confirmation prompts. Then open the iPhone’s Contacts app and check that the name and contact details have been saved.
The screenshots show an example card. Contact details and the appearance of the iPhone screens may differ.
Import a contact file with Google Contacts on Android
Make sure the VCF contact file is saved on the Android phone.
Open the Google Contacts app.
Select Organize → Import from file.
Choose the destination account if prompted, then select the VCF file.
Find the imported contact and check its name, phone number, and email.
These menu names apply to Google Contacts. Other Android contacts apps can use different labels. See Google’s contact import instructions if you need help with its import flow.
Why can’t the recipient save my details?
No contact-saving button appears: the owner should check that the Pro Wallet card block is included on the online card. Showing contact details and offering a save action are different features.
A file downloads but no contact appears: downloading the file is not the final import step. Open it or use the contacts app’s import function, then check the saved entry.
Details are missing or incorrect: the owner should review the online card’s information and test the resulting contact card again.
An old saved contact has not changed: editing a Wisery card does not automatically update a contact already saved in someone’s phone. The recipient needs to obtain the current details and update or save the contact again.
Does saving my contact details give me the visitor’s details?
Saving the card owner’s details stores those details on the recipient’s phone. To receive the visitor’s information, use a separate contact collection form and invite the visitor to submit it. Neither opening the online card nor saving the owner’s contact automatically submits the visitor’s details.
