Connect a domain you control to your Wisery online card so visitors can open the card at your branded web address. Set up the domain in Wisery and at your DNS provider, then verify the finished address before sharing it.
Applies to: Wisery AppSumo users. Custom-domain access is available to AppSumo users, not through a standard Free or Pro subscription alone. You need permission to manage the domain’s DNS records. Wisery currently supports one custom domain per account.
What do I need before connecting a custom domain?
A subdomain is an address under a domain you control. DNS means Domain Name System. A CNAME, or Canonical Name record, points a hostname to another hostname. Wisery’s setup documentation lists the CNAME target as cname.wisery.io. Copy the actual value in your account’s form; if it differs, confirm it with Wisery support before changing DNS.
Choose the subdomain for your online card and find the service that manages its authoritative DNS records. This can be different from the company where you bought the domain. Review existing records for that hostname with the person responsible for your website before replacing them.
How do I add the Wisery CNAME record?
Sign in to Wisery and open Account Settings → Custom domain. If Custom domain is missing, contact Wisery support to check your AppSumo access.
In the Wisery form’s Step 2, copy the CNAME target shown. The documented target is cname.wisery.io; if your form shows another value, confirm it with Wisery support before changing DNS.
Open the domain’s DNS settings at your DNS provider and add a CNAME record for the subdomain you selected.
Set the record’s Name or Host to the chosen subdomain. Providers differ in whether they expect a subdomain label or the complete hostname; check the resulting full hostname.
Set Target, Value, or Points to to the exact target copied from Wisery’s Step 2. Enter the hostname only, without https:// or a page path. Use the provider’s recommended TTL unless Wisery gives you another value.
If you use Cloudflare, set Proxy status to DNS only, shown by a grey cloud. Save the DNS record.
Illustrated DNS field guide. The example uses card.example.com; copy the actual hostname and target from your Wisery form.
Your DNS provider should show a CNAME for the intended subdomain pointing to the target copied from Wisery. TTL, or Time to Live, controls DNS caching; it does not guarantee when the entire connection will be ready.
How do I verify the custom domain in Wisery?
Return to Account Settings → Custom domain in Wisery.
Paste your complete custom hostname into the field in Step 3 of the Wisery form.
Select Verify and save.
Check your email for Wisery’s verification result. Verification may take up to 72 hours; an unsuccessful result needs troubleshooting rather than repeated DNS changes.
After verification succeeds, open the custom address in a visitor browser. Confirm that the intended online card opens without a certificate warning and that its important buttons work.
What should I do with existing links and QR codes?
After the custom-domain connection succeeds, Wisery-branded address redirects to the custom domain. Test the actual old link and any printed QR code before relying on that redirect. Share the new branded address and test any replacement QR artwork before printing it.
If verification fails or the wrong card opens, contact Wisery support through the in-app Messenger. Include your custom hostname, original card link, DNS provider, CNAME record screenshot, verification message, and the time of your last DNS change. Do not send account passwords or API keys.
Will my AppSumo custom-domain link keep working?
Custom-domain links connected through Wisery’s AppSumo lifetime deal continue working under that lifetime access.
