Embed external content and understand embedding restrictions

Add supported provider embed code to your Pro online card, and use a link when content cannot be displayed inside Wisery.

Add external content inside your Wisery online card using a provider’s embed code. Check whether the content displays in Wisery, and use a regular link button when embedding is restricted.

Applies to: people editing a Wisery online card. The dedicated Embed code block requires Wisery Pro. An ordinary Buttons link is available on Free and Pro.

What is embed code?

Embed code is the code an external service provides for displaying its content inside another page. An ordinary website address is a link to that page; it is different from provider-supplied embed code. The Wisery Embed code block does not guarantee that every external script, widget, or provider can run inside an online card.

How do I add an Embed code block?

  1. In the service that hosts the external content, find its supported embed option and copy the embed code for content you intend to make available on your card.

  2. Sign in to Wisery and select Business cards → Online cards.

  3. Select the preview of the online card you want to edit.

  4. Open Blocks and select Embed code under Available blocks. To change an existing embed instead, open its Embed code block under Added blocks.

  5. Enter a heading in Title.

  6. Paste the provider’s code into Add an embed code.

  7. Check the online card Preview to see whether the external content displays and behaves as intended.

If the embedded content displays, review it alongside the rest of your online card. If the content is blank, blocked, or unavailable, use the troubleshooting and link alternative below before relying on the embed.

Paste the provider’s code into Add an embed code. The editor warns that security restrictions can prevent content from displaying.

Why might embedded content not display?

Wisery’s Embed code editor states: “Some embedded content may not display on your page due to security restrictions.” Adding valid provider code does not guarantee that the content can appear inside a Wisery online card.

If embedded content does not display:

  1. Open the source content directly to check that it still exists and is available to the intended visitors.

  2. Check that you copied the provider’s embed code rather than only the page address.

  3. Review the provider’s requirements for sharing or embedding that content. Access and embedding restrictions can apply separately.

  4. If the content still cannot display in Wisery, use an ordinary link button to the provider’s page instead. Ask Wisery support through the in-app Messenger if you need help with the block’s behavior.

Do not rely on an embed that fails in Preview. A link alternative lets the visitor open the source page in the external service; it does not bypass embedding restrictions.

How do I use a link instead of an embed?

  1. In the Wisery online card editor, open Blocks → Buttons.

  2. Enter a clear Title describing the content, such as “Open the presentation.”

  3. Paste the complete accessible web address into Link, including https://.

  4. Check the button in Preview, then save when the card is ready to be available online.

After saving, open the shared Wisery online card and check that the button reaches the intended external content. The external service controls access to its page.

How do I save and check my online card?

  1. Check the online card Preview for the intended content and layout.

  2. Save only when the information is ready to be available online. Use the displayed save control, Save and publish or Save my online card.

  3. Open Business cards → Online cards, select Share on the same card, and open its card link.

  4. Check the saved page and test the relevant links before sending the card to someone else.

Saving a Wisery online card can make changes visible at its web address. Do not treat the card editor as private draft storage. If the saved page does not show your changes, check that you edited and saved the intended card, then ask Wisery support through the in-app Messenger if the problem continues.
