FAQ: Custom domain

1. Can I add multiple custom subdomains to my Wisery account?

You can only add one custom domain to your account at this time; the system does not currently support managing multiple custom subdomains for different cards under a single account.

2. After adding or updating my CNAME, do I need to update my shared links?

Yes, once you have successfully updated your CNAME (Canonical Name—a type of DNS record that maps one domain name to another), you should redistribute your online card link, as the previous Wisery-branded URL will now redirect to the new custom domain.

3. What happens to my custom links when my account or subscription expires?

If your subscription expires, your online card becomes unpublished, and any custom links will be deactivated. Visitors who attempt to access your custom domain will be redirected to a "Page Not Found" or a Wisery expiration notice.

4. What happens to my custom links if I remove the CNAME from my Wisery settings?

If you remove the CNAME from your Wisery dashboard, your online card will revert to using a standard, randomly generated Wisery URL (e.g., wisery.io/your-id).

5. What happens to my custom links if I remove the CNAME from my hosting provider's settings?

If you delete the CNAME record from your hosting platform (such as GoDaddy or Cloudflare), the custom link will break entirely, and visitors will see a browser error instead of your online card.

6. Can Free users set up a custom domain?

No, the ability to customize your online card URL beyond the standard slug is a PRO (Professional) feature. Free users must use the automatically generated URL.

7. Will my old Wisery URL still work after I set up a custom domain?

When you change your URL settings, the system generally redirects the old URL to the new landing page to ensure you do not lose traffic, though it is best practice to share your new personalized domain.
